Shawna Khouri
Shawna Khouri is an accomplished executive leader with a proven track record of driving operational excellence and fostering innovation. As Chief Operating Officer of RxMP therapeutics, she spearheads the development and execution of operational strategy for a groundbreaking injectable drug platform that aims to revolutionize hemostasis by rapidly stabilizing bleeding without the thrombotic risks associated with traditional treatments.
Prior to joining RxMP, Ms. Khouri was the Director for Health and Innovation Initiatives at TIL, the technology-led economic development division of the George Kaiser Family Foundation ($6B). At TIL, she played a key role in program and fundraising strategy, including building the operational framework for over $100M in federal and philanthropic funding via the EDA Build Back Better and Tech Hubs initiatives.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Khouri launched and later served as Managing Director of Biolocity, a successful philanthropic incubator and fund in Atlanta, GA. Under her leadership, Biolocity supported 40 projects, leading to the creation of 25 active startups, 2 industry licenses, 6 marketed products, 4 FDA clearances, and one acquisition, achieving a 10x return on investment. Notable portfolio companies include NephroDI Inc., GuideRx (acquired by Beam Therapeutics), BobcatBio Inc. (formerly SIRPant Immunotherapeutics), Andson Biotech (YC W22), and CorAmi Biotech Inc.
Ms. Khouri is a co-founder and former board member of TendoNova, an FDA-cleared, commercial-stage orthopedic medical device startup. She currently lends her expertise to the boards of the Georgia Tech & Emory Department of Biomedical Engineering and the University of Oklahoma Department of Biomedical Engineering. She holds a Master’s Degree in Biomedical Innovation and Development and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
